Background and Experience
As Managing Partner for Kennedy Cottrell Richards, Bill has responsibility for directing a variety of services provided to the firm’s clients, including State agencies, school districts, counties, cities, villages, townships, libraries, and various small to medium size businesses.
Before joining Kennedy Cottrell Richards, Bill was an Audit Manager for the State Government Region of the Auditor of State’s office where he gained extensive experience in accounting and auditing for state-level government. Before joining the Auditor of State’s office, Bill was an auditor for the Ohio Department of Taxation, where he was responsible for performing audits of Ohio individual and business income tax returns and technical research of various State and Federal tax issues.
Bill has been involved as a speaker for audit training sessions sponsored by the Treasurer of State, Auditor of State, the Ohio Department of Taxation, the Ohio Government Finance Officers Association, and the Central Ohio Association of Government Accountants.
School Degree, Professional Certifications, and Designations
Bill earned his BSBA degree in Accounting from The Ohio State University. He is licensed to practice as a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Ohio.
Service to the Community
Bill currently serves as a member of the Audit Committee for the Franklin County Clerk of Courts, and he serves on the Executive Committee for the Central Ohio Chapter of the Association of Government Accountants.Bill is also the Treasurer for the International Visitors Council and recently served for four years as Treasurer for Kaleidoscope Youth Center, both of which are non-profit organizations.
